First-
The flooring is tile, it's the tile that was in the room when I bought the house.
The first thing I did was I sanded off the finish to the preexisting tiles and acid wash it. After that was done I redid the grout (it was old, chipping out-it had never been sealed- plus the sanding and acid washing removed some).
Second-
Each tile was individually done (the art form it was done in is called decoupage-- the art of cutting out designs or illustrations from paper, foil, ect. and mounting them decoratvely on a surface). I adheared the paper pieces down with a water proof rubber cement and then painted the grout around the tile.
I have been doing decoupage for years and have collected an endlees supply of things I have cut out (I have have a storage area that is just cut outs for stuff like this all of them sorted and labled by theme/color/size, like red/auto/small or black-white/ words-letters/ large or yellow/comic/large ect ect. Color is decided by whatever color is the most prominent on the picture. I just add to them as I get new stuff.)
So I had all the cut outs ready to go befor I started, which kept this part from taking to long (I did all the pasting down in a few hours one night).
Third-
I sealed it with an oil based polyurethane (semi-gloss), there is a 72 hour dry time between coats. After the first coat was dry I lightly sanded it by hand (yes the whole floor by hand

) using a 220 sandpaper. I repeted this 5 times after the 6th coat I used an electric sander and a 120 sand paper, I did this twice. Then the final coat was put on and I let it sit 72 hours and the put everything back in the room.
That's it, pretty simlpe really, just takes a bit of time
`
sis here, I am moving what is in here now to scraps and also will be adding some other WIP shots to scraps (some of which are in my main accout, in scraps, but they are WIP shots of the house, so....)
House info.
Every room in this house has been redone by me, painting and flooring to light fixtures and the fireplace to base boards and some minor alterations to some of the doorways to the kitchen cupboards (inside and outside), everything has been redone. The furinture and odds and ends are almost all (75%) things I have found, be it at the dump, in someones trash, in dumpsters, or just randomly tossed in the desert and have redone or I have built or made from scratch.
I got tired of that dang avatar flashing at me

so I'll just use the one I have at my main account for now
